Official Calendar

Hispanic Heritage Month takes place from September 15th to October 15th every year to honor and celebrate the Hispanic culture as well as the contributions of Hispanic/Latinos in the Unites States. At the University of Virginia, we host events throughout this month to do the same for our community. Most events are different every year. They can vary from guest speakers, to Salsa lessons, to poetry readings. However, we also have traditional events, such as Flavors, a talent show showcase.  The Latino Student Alliance is working with the Office of the Dean of Students and many organizations across grounds, including the Spanish Department, Fuego, Salsa Club, and many more to carry out a fun, successful month!

All events are free of charge and are open to the Charlottesville community. Most events are in English. Events in Spanish are held by the Spanish Department geared towards Spanish majors.
