The Persian Cultural Club organized a cultural potluck to welcome their new members and start their big/lil program for the year. Students brought a variety of authentic dishes that reflects the beauty of the Persian culture.

The Arab Student Organization started the year with their first general body meeting. Members listened to the plans the council has for the year while enjoying the free pizza and samosa offered at the meeting. The Middle Eastern Mentoring Program kick-off event was a reception that was held in Peabody Hall. The program chairs talked about the history of the program and the growth that has been happening in the program. The event was also a networking session where first years had the opportunity to meet schools representatives and admission directors.

The Muslim Student Association at UVa started the year with a general body meeting. The council welcomed the new and returning students and gave a brief introduction on what the MSA is planning to do this year. Speakers from the Islamic Society of Central Virginia were invited to talk about their organization.
