Hispanic/Latino Student Services and Programs

The Office of Hispanic/Latino Student Programs is responsible for working with students individually, collectively, and through student organizations to assist them in their personal development both inside and outside the formal classroom structure of the University.

Hispanic/Latino Programs serve as a liaison to University offices and organizations, including links with alumni and recruitment of future students. Representation and support of the interests of the Hispanic/Latino or Latin American students is provided by the Assistant Dean through research, writing, interviews, and public speaking, helping to support and develop the various Hispanic/Latino programs which take place throughout the year such as Latino Awareness Week, La Gala, and Hispanic Heritage Month. Some of the organizations which serve the Hispanic/Latino University community are the Peer Mentor Program, a mentoring program with approximately 40 peer advisors and 120 peer advisees and La Alianza, an umbrella organization encompassing 14 Hispanic/Latino organizations.
