Leadership Programs
Leadership 2K (L2K)
Leadership 2000 is an intensive one-week summer program for the leaders of major, University-wide organizations designed to enhance their skills, increase their knowledge of the University, extend their network of University contacts, and contribute to a sense of community among student leaders. Sponsored by the Offices of the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Dean of Students, its purpose is to support student leaders and their organizations as they assume the major responsibilities associated with self-governance.The program topics and activities vary by year, but have in the past included: case studies in leadership, effective and ethical decision-making, diversity, exemplary leadership, delegation, motivation and empowerment, facilitation, and setting priorities. Students are also introduced to key University representatives and participate in discussions about the University's goals, plans, and challenges. Participation is by invitation.
Blueprint
Blueprint is a program designed for First and Second Year students and transfer students who demonstrate leadership potential and aspire to develope their personal and organizational leadership skills.
Men's Leadership Project
The Men's Leadership Project (mlp.virginia.edu) is an innovative community-based leadership development and mentoring program designed to build and reinforce authentic and responsible leadership capacities of both undergraduate men and elementary school boys in the Charlottesville community. MLP accepts nominations and applications from undergraduate men in the fall semester for a new cohort of undergraduate mentors each spring semester to enroll in the service learning curriculum. Involvement in MLP includes a 2-credit spring academic preparatory course prior to mentoring and a 3-credit service learning course during the Fall semester to begin the year-long mentoring commitment. Students will engage critically with interdisciplinary content related to gender identity, adolescent development, social justice, and leadership theory. MLP is co-sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Students, the Curry School of Education, and the UVa Women's Center.

The Women's Leadership Development Program
The Women's Leadership Development Program provides undergraduate women with leadership skills through a series of workshops and speakers. Students who exhibit leadership potential are nominated for the program by fellow students, faculty, and/or staff.
EDLF 200
“Paradigms and Strategies of Leadership” is a general leadership theory class for First and Second Year students.
EDLF 400
“Leadership in Student Organizations” is designed for upper-level students to learn and develop stronger leadership skills and to be able to concurrently apply them in their leadership roles at UVa.
Leadership Consultants
Leadership Consultants are a group of student leaders who consult and advise student organizations and manage the Student Activities Center.
The Leadership Resource Library
The Leadership Resource Library is a library and information clearinghouse with resources on leadership opportunities and research.
