Student Motivation & Apathy Program

Our Student Activities Team is pleased to share that we are working with TJ Sullivan, a nationally recognized speaker, who will present to student organization leaders on the topic of “Motivating the Middle” on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 @ 6:30pm in the Newcomb Ballroom. This keynote address is open to all student leaders.

University Career Services is now accepting applications for the Career Peer Educator Program. UCS seeks highly motivated individuals to promote and educate the U.Va. community about UCS resources and programming. CPEs are trained by UCS counselors and serve as ambassadors as they provide career outreach support for fellow students.

NOTICE TO CIOs: Use of Academic Space

Recently, the Office of the Dean of Students has received multiple reports indicating that CIOs are improperly using academic spaces for CIO events. Among these reports are accounts that CIOs are gaining unauthorized entry into spaces, are staying in the space beyond the allotted reservation time, are leaving debris, food, and trash in the space, and are improperly using classrooms for rehearsals and performances.

Returning Students Financial Aid Deadline

Come file your 2013-2014 application for financial aid in person with Student Financial Services and meet the March 1st deadline! Two events will be held in January and representatives will be available to help you file your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and your UFAA (University Financial Aid Application).

As we start a new year, Student Activities would like to remind CIO leaders of important information and dates.

2013 ACC Leadership Conference

The 2013 ACC Leadership Conference is a 3-day leadership learning opportunity to engage student leaders across the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The 2013 conference theme centers on the civic engagement and volunteerism.

The conference is scheduled for April 5 – 7, 2013 and will be hosted at Boston College.

Spring 2013 Student Election Calendar

Launch of Student Activities’ YouTube Channel

Student Activities has launched its own YouTube Channel. This channel will feature videos that are helpful and useful to current student and student leaders.
