CIO Spotlight: charity: water at UVA
Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence (including war). 90% of the 30,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions are in children under 5 years old.
charity: water is working to make sure that everyone has access to clean and safe water. By building water filtration and sanitation systems all over the world, they are ensuring that people have the most basic and wide-reaching resource. At UVA we fundraise for water projects and raise awareness using events throughout the year! Email Alex at firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to get involved. The water crisis is huge, but also solvable. Help us solve it.
Each month a different CIO will be featured. Submit a brief description with a picture to Student Activities at email@example.com.
Flash Week Seminars At The MAC
Student Activities would like to invite your CIO to attend a flash seminar in the MAC! Each flash seminar will be 45 minutes to an hour. Sign-up today!
*Due to space being limited in the MAC, the flash seminars will be limited to those that register first. Register at https://atuva.student.virginia.edu/form/start/36901.
If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We would like to thank Alex Lumain for designing our flyer!
