Judith Reagan has a joint appointment with the Drama Department and the Teaching Resource Center. As Senior Associate Director of the TRC she works with faculty from many different academic disciplines on maintaining excellence in teaching. Jude’s research focuses on transplanting effective oral communication techniques developed for and used by actors to other populations and professions. She regularly offers workshops on developing vocal and physical flexibility and stamina useful in lecturing, giving conference presentations, and other aspects of academic speaking to U.Va. faculty, graduate and undergraduate students. Each spring she teaches an undergraduate course, Oral Interpretation, in the Drama Department. In response to U.Va. students’ interest in developing confidence in public speaking, Jude put together the web site Speak Your Mind which consolidates programs, courses, clubs and other on-Grounds entities devoted to developing oral skill. She is a member of Actors’ Equity and SAG-AFTRA, and has performed in regional theatres in Virginia, Vermont, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Washington DC and New York City. Opportunities for television and film work rise occasionally. Her credits include a national commercial, appearances on daytime drama, in independent films, and TV weather reporting.
