Graduate Spotlight -- Jessica Cloutier

Jessica

Q & A with Jessica Cloutier, 1st year MFA Candidate in Technical Direction.

  • Age: 25
  • Year in School: This is my first year as a grad student.
  • Hometown: Fall River, MA
  • Why U.Va.?  U.Va. has the perfect size grad program. There are just enough of us so that we all get a chance to be a leader.
  • Major/ Minor/ concentration: Technical Direction
  • U.Va. Drama resume: Oklahoma!,  The Love Songs of J. Robert Oppenheimer (Assistant Technical Director); upcoming: The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Technical Director)
  • Best thing about U.Va. Drama: The intimate connection between faculty and students.
  • Worst thing about U.Va. Drama: Not enough time in the day to explore and pick all the faculty’s brains.
  • What are you most excited about for the Spring 2009 semester?  To be starting on my second year as a grad student and being the Properties master for the Fall Semester.
  • Summer and/or post-U.Va. goals? My summer goals are to be a part of Heritage … and try to find time to read as many books as I can.  Post U.Va., I’m just not sure yet, since this is my first year and all but I am sure I will figure it all out by graduation.
