Fields: Tibetan studies, Buddhist studies, Tantric studies, comparative philosophy, the historical study of tantric religious movements in Tibet from tenth to fourteenth centuries

Professor Germano is the author of chapters in Tantra in Practice (1999), Buddhism in Contemporary Tibet (1996), Tibetan Buddhism in Practice (1995), and articles in various journals. He is also the co-editor of The Many Canons of Tibetan Buddhism (2002), and Embodying the Dharma: Buddhist Relic Veneration in Asia (2004). He is also a recipient of Mellon, Fulbright-Hays, and Committee for Scholarly Cooperation China fellowships as well as multiple grants from the Department of Education and the National Endowment for the Humanities. He is also the founder and director of the Tibetan and Himalayan Digital Library (www.thdl.org)
