Program:

Council Business

Jon Rice was unable to attend the Council meeting due to a back injury. Arlene Buynak had another commitment. The Council meeting was conducted by Mary Russell,- the Council Secretary.

Guest Speaker: Darrell Kozuch, HR Payroll

Darrell informed us about the upcoming Online Pay slips. Employees should receive a letter in their next pay stub on Dec.30th, explaining the program. There will be a review period starting in Jan. through Feb. You will be able to review Pay slips online to become familiar with the program. The Online Pay slips will be available through the Oracle System. Employees who do not have access to Oracle will be given an ID and Password.
The new Online Pay System has no ability to delete or purge information .You will be able to see the history of past pay slips. In the future, HR hopes to be able allow employees to update their addresses and Benefits. The system doesn't show leave time or your Social Security #. You will need to keep track of your leave information from your time sheets. No one will have the ability to look at another employee's pay information. Employees will have the benefit of looking at their pay information from home, the Library or their Office.

Patty Mabury and Paul Orange gave a video presentation of the Pay slip Tutorial Training. The Tutorial will be available to employees from the HR homepage. The HR home page will have a button to link directly to the Pay slip online site. The online system is unlimited and can show you all deductions. There is going to be a change in the State Tax schedule on Jan.1st, 2005.
Missy Brads asked if there is going to be an option of going from Monthly to Semi-Monthly. Darrell said this is on hold for now due to the cost of approximately 3 million dollars to change everyone over. All new employees will be paid Semi-Monthly.

Reports:

Beth Reinhard checked into Kids for Christmas and unfortunately it was too late in the month to do something in time for Christmas. This is something we can keep in mind for next year.

Alan Cohn gave an update about the Website Changes. These will be coming sometime the end of Jan. or Feb. They will be getting together with the Council Chairs to get their ideas and suggestions. You can give any changes or updates to Executive Vice President and chief Operating Office's Employee Council Website to Jon Rice. Alan will also be checking to see what Departments are represented and which ones are not in order to get better representation for all departments.

Announcements:

Have a healthy and safe holiday and a Happy New Year!!!

Next Meeting:

The next meeting will take place on January 20, 2005 at 1:30PM in the Newcomb Hall Commonwealth Room.
