The Council would like to extend a warm welcome to Tomekia James. Tomekia will be the new representative on council for the UVA Bookstore and Cavalier Computers.
Old Business:
1. The
Minutes for January’s meeting have been approved for the web.
New Business:
1. The Council is working on Postcards, memo pads, post-it-notes and possibly a raffle ticket for the Faculty and Staff Resource Fair in April.
The Resource Fair will be held at Newcomb Hall on April 18th from 2:00-4:00pm.
2. Missy Brads attended a Diversity council meeting on February 15th. Topics discussed were, progress on a class for A&S 1st year students about diversity. A student representative spoke about issues regarding the Honor System.
3. There will be an Executive council meeting on Wed. February 21st. Beth and Missy will be attending if anyone has any issues they’d like to present to the council.

1. Emergency Phones: phones are placed around the university for emergency purposes. They give a sense of security in a psychological way.
2. Crosswalk Safety: Many accidents occur at crosswalks due to people not paying attention. They are in cars talking on cell phones or walking and talking on a cell phone.
3. Lighting on Grounds: The lighting on

5. Pre and Post construction Plans: They review drawings and construction plans for safety issues, such as, placement of trees, plants shrubs, walkways stairways and railings and lighting.

9. Police Reports They do night tours once in the spring and once in the fall to check for any areas that need help.
