Donna Roach and Carrie Harper of Human Resources addressed questions about the different types of leave available to classified employees. The leave types are mandated by the state and will remain until decisions are made under restructuring. They addressed leave types such as: inclement weather policy, community leave, disability credits, Family Medical Leave Act, administrative leave, educational leave, etc. As a reminder the inclement weather announcement is recorded at 924-SNOW and 243-SNOW. The committee’s Rules of Conduct were discussed and approved by voting. They are posted on the Provost Council’s website at http://www.virginia.edu/employeecouncils/provost/

Carol Garges of the Parking Subcommittee gave an update on their progress. Carol and Rob Schuett met with Richard Kovatch (Assoc VP for Business Operations) to gather suggestions to improve the current payment structure for parking and discuss budgetary information. The committee will meet again to discuss a mission statement and review the P&T budget. They will be meeting with reps from different councils who are serving on this parking committee.
