Envisioning Integrity at the University of Virginia
Invigorating a Community of Trust

Proposed Phase III Initiatives (Phase I & Phase II initiatives will continue)

1. Faculty Development/Orientation
At the beginning of each academic year, EI will offer an introductory seminar for new faculty and TAs on the role of ethics and integrity in University life. This seminar will be a brief introduction to EI’s purpose, activities, and resources available for faculty use. In addition, throughout the academic year, EI Educators (together with faculty members) will visit each school to discuss important topics and EI resources.

2. Staff Orientation
A least once per year, EI administrators will conduct an informational session for staff members that emphasizes the importance of honor and ethics in the University Community. EI will develop fun, creative ways in which to encourage staff members to take an interest in, and understand, their important role in creating an environment of integrity at the University.

3. Staff CD/Video
EI will develop a video/CD that introduces new staff members to the University as an institution of honor and integrity.
