Senate Ad-Hoc Committee on Development

The Capital Campaign planned to begin in 2004 is the cornerstone for the University's excellence over the next two decades, particularly if it reaches an agreement on Chartered status with the Commonwealth in which state financing will play a yet smaller role in its operations. There are many essential elements requiring private financing that transcend the interests of the individual schools. The Senate has taken a particular interest in a number of these "Pan-University" priorities.

Accordingly, the Executive Council has established a -Planning and Development Committee to undertake the following tasks:

(1) To consult with the President, Vice Presidents, and Deans concerning Pan-University initiatives and priorities;

(2) To act as a liaison for the faculty to the Office of Development; and (3) To marshal faculty resources to assist the Campaign toward its goals.
