Agenda Digest
Ed Ayers called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. in Room 110
at Peabody Hall. In attendance were Rebecca Kneedler, Reuben Rainey,
George Cohen, Marva Barnett, Rich DeMong, Mark Haskins and Doris
Glick.
Business:
*Mr. Ayers told the Committee that the American Association of
Higher Education has produced a video on peer review. The Committee
feels that the video would be useful for the Faculty Senate to have,
given the work being done on teaching evaluation. Mr. Ayers will
check into the possibility of the Senate purchasing the video.
*The Committe briefly discussed a letter that the Faculty
Senate has received regarding the new policy on posthumous
degrees.
*The last order of business was a discussion of the teaching
conversation reports that have come in. Mr. Ayers is pleased with
the magnitude of the responses. The Committee had a conversation on
how to give shape and force to the information being gathered from
the reports. Assignments were made to work on the preamble to the
report the Committee will make, and to work on the three parts of the
reports; the Evaluation, the Improvement, and the Incentives.
The meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
