Agenda Digest

In attendance were Ed Ayers, Rebecca Kneedler, Ingrid Soudek, Reuben Rainey, George Cohen, Milton Adams, Harold Burbach, Marva Barnett, Richard DeMong, and Doris Glick.

Mr. Ayers reported the resignation of Diane Snustad. Ms. Snustad is unable to complete her term on the Committee because of her many other commitments. The Committee recommended a replacement, and this recommendation will go before the Executive Council at its next meeting.

The Committee decided not to meet again until March 3, but will conduct business through electronic communications. This will give the group time to collect and review the teaching conversation reports.

The issuance of posthumous degrees was discussed. There was a minor revision made in the language of the University's policy on posthumous degrees, which was drafted in 1996. The document will now go before the Executive Council for approval.

The Committe discussed a proposal for a new degree program in the School of Medicine. The group voted unanimously to approve the proposal, contingent upon written approval from the appropriate person in Arts & Sciences.

The meeting adjourned at 4:08 p.m.
