Agenda Digest

The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. in the Lower Level Conference Room at Madison Hall. In attendance were Ed Ayers, Ben Ray, Harold Burbach, Rebecca Kneedler, Ingrid Soudek, George Cohen, Marva Barnett, Richard DeMong, Diane Snustad, Milton Adams and Mark Haskins.

Business:

Teaching Evaluation: The document is structured to address the Self-Study recommendations. It has three parts: Evaluation; Development; and Incentives. It was decided that the document should be presented to the Senate with an executive summary. The Senators will be asked to organize a discussion within their departments and provide dialogue back to the Committee by March 1.

Student Evaluations: The use of student evaluations, and these evaluations being published electronically was discussed. The Committee decided to "wait and see" how the pilot program being developed is received before deciding how much endorsement they will give the initiative.

The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
