Agenda Digest
The meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.m. in the President's
Conference Room at Madison Hall. In attendance were Ed Ayers, Marva
Barnett, Milton Adams, Richard DeMong, Mark Haskins, Harold Burbach,
Ben Ray, George Cohen and Rebecca Kneedler.
Rebecca Kneedler, Chair of the Faculty Senate, gave an overview
of the role of the Academic Affairs Committee.
Ms. Kneedler invited the Committee to attend the NSB Roundtable
Wrap Up. This year's directive stresses on research and
education.
Teaching Evaluation: Information requested from all schools
and departments of Arts & Sciences included; (a) student course
evaluation forms and how they were used, (b) faculty and peer review
forms and how they were used and (c) any additional instruments used
for teaching evaluation. Ben Ray studied the material and made
observations from the data received. The Committee will explore
schools/departments to find the best practices to highlight.
Educational Policy Studies: A new degree proposal in the
Education School, to be reviewed by the Academic Affairs Committee
for approval.
