1951, to the Astronomy Building this past summer. We received outstanding
support from the University to make the move go very smooth.
- Continued strong cadet corps of 128 cadets. We have a superb entering class

for May 2006

> Significant Accomplishments during 2004/2005:
- Ranked in the top 15% of programs nationwide for the fourth year in a row.
This ranking is based on two factors: we met our commissioning mission and
the quality of those commissioned was among the best in the nation.
- UVA will meet its commissioning mission for the fifth year in a row in
2005, reversing a trend of missing mission five times during the 1990s.
- Of the 41 graduates from the UVA Army ROTC classes of 2001, 2002, and 2003,
34 have served or are currently serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. Most of the
graduates of the class of 2004 are currently completing their officer training
and will be joining the fight against terror in the coming months.
- A truly remarkable statistic is the UVA Ranger School graduation rate.
Ranger School is considered the most physically and mentally challenging training
in the Army - only one in a 1000 soldiers in the Army is Ranger qualified.
Most soldiers never earn admission to the school. Of those that do, the graduation
rate is 30%. Of the 41 UVA graduates in 2001, 2002, and 2003, twelve attended
the school and eleven are graduates. Only 1 of 12 failed to graduate, and
over 25% of UVA graduates since 2001 are Ranger qualified, compared to 1 in
a 1000 Army wide.
