Commonwealth 2020 Lecture Series: Engaging the Mind

Larry Sabato
Director, Center for Governmental Studies and Robert Kent Gooch Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs

Friday November 30th at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond

OVERTIME! and Beyond: The Elections of 2000 and 2001

"Politics is a Good Thing!" is the slogan of Center for Governmental Studies founder, Larry J. Sabato. Called "the most quoted college professor in the land" by the Wall Street Journal, Sabato bridges the gap between the ivory tower and the real world on issues of critical importance to American democracy--the challenges facing our political process. Sabato's presentation will focus on the historic election of 2000 and his most recent book, OVERTIME! The Election 2000 Thriller, a collection of never-before-published stories, commentaries, and interviews by key insiders and frontline witnesses to the 2000 presidential election. Sabato will also discuss the 2001 Virginia gubernatorial election, as well as preview the upcoming contests of the 2002 mid-term elections.
