How do we choose a speaker? First consider what issues or topics would be of most interest to your group. Then search the Speakers Bureau by topic, interest area, speaker last name or keyword. Develop a list of 3-5 speaker possibilities. More information. Once you have developed a list of 3-5 potential speakers, please go to the request form and complete all the required information. Please allow 5-7 business days for the Speakers Bureau staff to extend the invitation to the faculty member on your group's behalf. Once we receive a response from the speaker, we will contact you directly at the email address or phone number you provide. Request form. |

How does scheduling work? Faculty members are busy at the beginning and end of the school year. Some faculty speakers have requested up to a year advance notice for speaking engagements or are available on a limited basis. It is a good idea to develop a list of 3-5 potential speakers. Planning your event well in advance and having a few possible dates in mind make it easier to fulfill your request. We are happy to help you to find the best speaker for your event. More information. |

What are the hosting group's responsibilities? Our faculty look forward to talking about their work with a diverse audience and connecting with the public. We would greatly appreciate your organization acknowledging the UVa Faculty Senate Speakers Bureau in promotional materials and in the introduction of the speaker. |
