Statement to the Virginia Tech Community

On behalf of our university's faculty, the Executive Council of the University of Virginia Faculty Senate offers sincere condolences to the faculty, students, staff, alumni, and friends of Virginia Tech on the terrible tragedy of the shootings that occurred yesterday. We want you to know we offer our hands to hold, our ears to listen, and our hearts to feel as you work through your grief. We recognize that this tragedy could have taken place anywhere, and we pledge to work with you to protect the innocent and to prevent similar events in the future.
