Family Weekend 2016 is

No registration is required to attend Family Weekend; however, some individual events may require pre-registration and/or an admission fee.


Dome Room Dinners

One of Family Weekend's most popular events, the dinners allow families to dine together, while listening to a lecture from one of the University's premier faculty members.


Fall Convocation

This ceremony recognizes third-year students who have earned Intermediate Honors, and pays tribute to the recipients of the Thomas Jefferson Awards - the University's highest honor.



In this free, student-directed festival, experience the diversity of the University through food, dance, performances, and presentations. Over 30 student organizations participate.

With over 60 events planned for Family Weekend, as well as the Virginia Film Festival taking place November 3-6, there's something for everyone.
