This is to inform you that the State Automobile Liability Insurance Program will be administered by Crawford & Company effective December 31, 2000. The present contract with Liberty Mutual will end as of December 30, 2000.

Please inform the appropriate individuals in your department that if they are involved in an automobile accident using a state owned or leased vehicle, they should follow the usual procedures with the one exception that they will now call Crawford & Company to report the accident instead of Liberty Mutual beginning December 31, 2000.

To recap what employees must do when involved in an automobile accident please, refer to the steps outlined below:

• Report the accident to State Police if the accident occurs away from the University, or report the accident to University Police if it occurs on grounds.
• Notify Crawford & Company (1-866-219-6120) of the accident. Be prepared to give them information about the accident.
• Report the automobile accident to UVA Risk Management (804) 924-3055, and send a completed Automobile Loss Notice Report to UVA Risk Management in Carruthers Hall or fax it to (804) 982-2635.
