Required Training


The PCI Standards require that every employee involved in the processing, storage, or transmission of payment card data completes annual PCI training. The following traning mocdules are provided for use at the University of Virginia. Your department or unit may require additional training specific to your merchant environment.

Front-line PCI Training: This training is provided for cashiers, phone-a-thon participants, and fiscal personnel involved in payment card activities that are never exposed to data from more than one card at a time.

This training may not be adequate for PCI coordinators, signatory executives PCI Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ), or I.T. professionals. These people should contact the U.Va. Payment Card Services unit to arrange for training.

We recommend the following training:

Controlling Cash, Checks, & Credit Cards at the University of Virginia - This course is designed for anyone at the University who handles or supervises cash, checks, and credit card activities at the University. Attendees will learn about cash handling best practices and topics that include: payment cards and PCI, expenditure credits, petty cash accounts, and e-commerce at UVA.
