FOCUS Online
Overview
FOCUS Online is the virtual method of attending the semi-annual conference held by the Fiscal Officers of Colleges and Universities State Supported (FOCUS). Organized in 1982, FOCUS promotes a sharing of information between member institutions of higher education within the Commonwealth of Virginia to improve fiscal management for all members and establishes dialog with central State agencies to inform them of the organization's position or concern on financial management issues.
Benefits
FOCUS Online offers the following:
- Real-time video of presenters for most general sessions,
- Audio available through either your computer or phone (long-distance charges will apply), and
- Real-time viewing of presentation slides.
Background
FOCUS Online is the result of a volunteer effort to maximize technology for combatting the effect of budget cuts on conference attendance. Volunteers for the FOCUS Online team now span across three Universities: Virginia State University, Radford University, and the University of Virginia.
