RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

This policy describes the general guidelines for assigning responsibility for the development of policies and procedures.
2.0 Policy [Top]
The Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer will assign responsibility for the development of policies and procedures that are of general interest.
Departments are encouraged to revise existing policy topics or identify topics of general interest not currently addressed in the manuals, finalize the text, and obtain the necessary institutional approvals.
The Department of Accounting Operations is responsible for:
- Editing the text of all new and revised policies and procedures to assure conformity to established terminology and formats.
- Coordinating any editorial reviews and approvals of all such policies and procedures by cognizant University offices.
- Distributing the new or revised material to manual custodians.
NOTE: ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION RESTS WITH THE ISSUING DEPARTMENT.
