           FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES MANUAL

TITLE: UNIVERSITY FLIGHT CHARTER SERVICE POLICY: VI.B.8x

Availability

University flight charter service is available for conducting
official University business. Parking and Transportation (P&T) and
the Athletic Department have worked together to provide this
service. P&T charters the aircraft through its Flight Services
Division.

The aircraft used is University owned and operated. It is a twin
engine, turboprop, Beechcraft King Air, capable of seating seven.
The airplane is called WAHOO-1.

In addition to WAHOO-1, P&T can also arrange for other charter
aircraft. Charges for all charter flights are based on a flight
hour basis, regardless of the number of passengers. Other charges
may include landing/parking fees and pilot/copilot expenses, if
applicable.

Advantages

These include:

Potential cost saving for group travel,

Time savings where long, non-productive driving and
          overnight stays may be involved.

The capability of using smaller airports not served by
          major airlines. And,

          Efficiency of direct flights.

Flight Charter Service Responsibility

The responsibility for the operation of the passenger aircraft,
including go or no go weather decisions, rests with the command
pilot. Each command pilot has full control and authority in the
operation of the aircraft, and will be responsible for the safety
of the passengers, crew members, and aircraft.

Scheduling Priority

Flights will be scheduled on a first come/first serve basis. Only
the President's Office and the Athletic Departments have priority
over all other groups. If the President's Office or the Athletic
Department did take priority, they would be responsible for any
addidtions costs associated with the replacement aircraft.

Payments for Service

P&T's flight service division will directly charge the departmental
account provided on the reservation form.

Reservations

Reservations for air charter service should be made as far in
advance as possible. Reservation cards are available from the
Flight Services Division at P&T, or by calling 924-7711.
