A Commitment to Affordability

The University of Virginia understands the financial challenges facing college students today. The rising cost of college, combined with an increasingly broad range of available financing options, requires that today's prospective college student fully understand how to apply for financial aid and the financial aid awards the student may be eligible to receive.

Student Financial Services provides need-based financial assistance to students, many of whom might otherwise be unable to attend the University. Access UVa is our comprehensive financial aid program - designed to keep higher education affordable for all students who qualify for admission- regardless of economic circumstance.

Every student applying to the University for admission is encouraged to apply for Financial Aid through Student Financial Services. We will determine if you qualify for federal, state or institutional grants, federal work-study or federal student loans, and we are here to help you evaluate your financial aid package. Regardless of whether you qualify for financial aid, our office is committed to assisting you to successfully manage your finances and improve the quality of your student life.
