Benjamin Cohen

I am an assistant professor (general faculty) of Science, Technology and Society in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. I am also an environmental historian, science studies scholar, and author of Notes from the Ground: Science, Soil and Society in the American Countryside (2009). While I investigate the origins of industrial agricultural in my historical research, I work to move beyond the limitations of the industrial system in my local community-engaged work, topics courses, and supervised student research projects.
