Sara B. Teaster

Urban and Environmental Planning, UVA Student Garden Manager

Sara B. Teaster
I am a second year Masters student in Urban and Environmental Planning and the UVA student garden Manager for the 2010-2011 school year. I have spent many years working in the food system as a waitress, organic farm apprentice, food retail shop worker, wine tasting employee, pre-school garden class teacher, and the owner of my own baking business. This well rounded perspective has been helpful in my food course work. This past summer I was a legislative media intern for Congressman Tom Perriello in Washington, D.C. and this experience helped to solidify in my mind both the need and opportunity for new food policies.
