Adding and Dropping French Courses

Once classes are filled, the French Department blocks adding and dropping activity through ISIS so that students on waiting lists do not lose their place.

New! Please see our online waiting list form & FAQ's for waiting lists and courses restricted to "Instructor Permission."

Each instructor will keep careful attendance records and waiting lists for the first two weeks of class.

After the second week of class, instructors with space available will add in students on waiting lists using Course Action Forms.

What Should Students Do?

Attend the first class in which you are attempting to enroll.  Speak to the instructor and inform him/her that you are not enrolled, and to please wait-list you if you have not already been waitlisted.

Check enrollment figures posted on the door between Cabell 302 and Cabell 304 to see if there are any classes with immedaite openings. Try to take one of these classes instead . (Enrollment limit is 18).

Attend class regularly, whether enrolled or on a waiting list. Students who do not attend will be dropped from class rosters.

If you miss one class of the section you are waitlisted for, your name will be dropped from the waiting list.

If you miss two classes of the section you are registered for, your name will be dropped from the class roster.

Please leave a note in the instructor's mailbox if you are dropping a course.  Also, call ISIS to drop a course.

Your instructor has Course Action Forms, and will begin to sign them after the end of the second week of class.

Bring Course Action Forms to Cabell Hall 302 once they have been signed by the instructor.

What Should Instructors Do?

Keep careful attendance records.

Record daily (on the poster outside of 302 Cabell Hall) the number of students attending your class.  Include students on your waiting list.
