Using Songs in French

Whether you are using music in the warm-up, as a cultural module, in contextualized grammar or vocabulary presentations, for grammar or vocabulary review and practice, or as a listening comprehension text, remember to treat the song as you would any authentic text. (see Receptive Skills)  Even if the song is not being used as a listening comprehension text per se, be sure to provide a brief pre-listening discussion and a
global listening task before asking students to listen for specific content.
