Greek News - Bonus Leadership Edition

Hello Folks,
Hope you are enjoying the break and the holidays! I wanted to tell you about three leadership programs that will be accepting applications early in the Spring semester that are all quite different in their gendered approaches and variety of offerings.

Women's Leadership Development Program @ U.Va.
Women in this program will be asked to participate in three sessions next semester (in February, March, and April) where they can continue to examine their potential as leaders at U.Va. and beyond.

The sessions will bring this group of students together with other students, faculty from the University, and community leaders to consider such issues as leadership styles, building self-confidence, male/female communication in leadership, balancing career and personal interests, and paths to leadership at U.Va..

Men's Leadership Project

Now accepting applications for its inaugural class, this innovative program is looking for about 12 -15 pioneering men to build the program's future. Successful applicants will participate in a 10-week leadership training program in the Spring Semester 2007, followed by a full academic year of mentoring with a 5th grade student at Walker Upper Elementary School. The first class of MLP leaders will help to plan activities for the subsequent year, having significant input into the design and implementation of the overall program. The application deadline is 19Jan07, with applications attached (in both word and pdf formats). Please contact celliott@virginia.edu or 434.924.7430 with any questions.

Happy Holidays - have fun, be safe! Cheers.
