FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11 – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2013

On April 4, 2013, University Dean of Students Allen Groves requested that all IFC fraternities initiate their new members within 72 hours in order to end the “pledging” period at the University. The decision to take such action was reflective of what the University believed in good faith to be a systemic problem of hazing and misconduct in the IFC community.
As a complement to this action, the University committed to initiating a programmatic intervention to advance our hazing prevention and education efforts.
The Summit on Hazing Prevention included representatives from all IFC Fraternities, the leadership of the Inter-Fraternity Council, alumni leadership, and inter/national headquarters representatives.
