PART-TIME BENEFITS:
B.P.Camden reported on a meeting of Tom Gausvik with the WFPA Committee on General Faculty discussing part-time benefits.
Mr. Gausvik is preparing a report to be complete 12/1/95 on health benefits for all part-time salaried employees (faculty and staff). Currently the state code allows health benefits for full-time employees only.
The options to be presented in his
report:
1) allow part-time employees into the state plan (would
need state approval);
2) set up a separate group plan (this would require at least 250 employees to participate to be viable).
Action: Bill Randolph will write a letter requesting a copy of the 12/1/95 report.
BENEFITS COMMITTEE:
J.Clack reported on the University Benefits Committee. Kathy Reed is an ex-officio member. The instructions to the Committee are that they can consider any benefits changes as long as it wouldn't cost the university any additional money.
ELECTION:
B.P.Camden reported that the election is underway and results would be available on Nov. 22.
GENERAL ELECTION:
It was noted that the general election process would start in Jan., and we should appoint a new Elections Committee at the Dec. meeting.
FINANCES:
B.Randolph report on Council finances for the last three years:
1993/94 budget: $2,500 spent: $624
1994/95 budget: $2,500 spent: $1,015
1995/96 budget: $2,500 spent: $157 (as of 9/95)
COUNCIL MEETING TIME:
A. Loper reported that after checking with all Council members, the second Tues. of the month from 1:00-3:00 is still the best option, though she will have a conflict at that time.
POLICY COMMITTEE:
A.Loper reported on the activities of the Policy Committee. They would like to mount all documents pertaining to general faculty on the Council's GWIS page. The need to have a Web page for Council was noted. The Policy Committee is also working on an index to all the documents.
Next meeting will be December 12, 1995 in peabody 110 from 1 until 3 PM.
