General Faculty Council
University of Virginia

 MISSION STATEMENT
The University of Virginia General Faculty Council represents full and part-time gGeneral fFaculty and the Senior Professional Research Staff (hereafter General Faculty). The Council exists to represent the interests of the General Faculty to the University, and to advise the University on matters pertaining to the General Faculty, and to provide service to the University.

COUNCIL MEETINGS
The Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month, from 12:00 - 1:30 in the Third Floor Board Room 389, Newcomb Hall.  Meetings are open. Meeting minutes are available on this website..

All general faculty are automatically subscribed to the majordomo list gf-roster@virginia.edu (updated each Fall). This mailing list was created to specifically disseminate information to the general faculty (around 1400 1600 members) on the work of the General Faculty Council (GFC) and other issues relevant to general faculty status within the University. The list is a closed and moderated mailing list for all members of the general faculty and is maintained by members of the General Faculty Council (GFC).
