Dear Friends of the German Department,

We are delighted to report that since publication of our last Newsletter, our Center for German Studies at U.Va. has been launched. With a kick-off reception, followed by a weekend of events featuring Die Zeit editor Josef Joffe, our Center got off to an excellent start this past fall. In this latest Newsletter, you may read about the Center, as well as news about our faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and our award-winning administrative assistants.

Mit freundlichen Grüssen,

Cora Schenberg
