School of Medicine and Medical CenterThe School of Medicine has a long tradition of excellence in a highly collaborative atmosphere throughout the Health System and University, across the Commonwealth, and beyond. The school finds innovative ways to improve health by building upon the foundations of education, research, patient care, and service to the community. The Medical Center includes the U.Va. Cancer Center, the U.Va. Children’s Hospital, and a variety of other highly respected patient centers. Through the Campaign for Health, we are adding resources that will help turn our innovative programs into national pacesetters. The Campaign for Health reached its initial $500 million goal in 2010, raising vital resources for the Schools of Medicine and Nursing and the Medical Center. Now, a new bridge campaign, running until December 2011, will support core research, building, and clinical initiatives already begun and help to fund additional strategic directions in health care.
