School of Nursing

Short Takes from the Grounds

Dean Dorrie Fontaine on how faculty support in the nursing school helps create 21st-century leaders.

School of Nursing faculty and staff work together to advance the overarching missions of patient care, education, research, and public service. The school attracts outstanding students, faculty, and nursing research leaders. Through the Campaign for Health, the school is strengthening key programs and building its reputation nationally. In 2010, the Campaign for Health reached its initial $500 million goal. Now, a new bridge campaign, running until December 2011, will support additional needs within the School of Nursing, including the renovation of McLeod Hall and emerging compassionate care initiatives. The Campaign for Health encompasses vital priorities for U.Va.’s Schools of Nursing and Medicine and the Medical Center.
