Edward C. Mitchell, Jr.

Edward C. Mitchell. Jr., (College 63) is currently a partner with the Atlanta based asset management firm, Cornerstone Investment Partners, LLC. He is a former Global Partner with Invesco, Ltd, a leading global investment management company.

After graduating from Virginia with a BA in history, he was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force were he served for four years with the Office of Special Investigations. Ed received his MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado in 1970 and began work shortly thereafter as a security analyst and later as a portfolio manager with Citizens and Southern Investment Counseling, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Citizens and Southern National Bank of Atlanta (now Bank of America). In 1978, he was one of nine founders of INVESCO Capital Management, which is now a part of Invesco, Ltd.

Ed was awarded his Chartered Financial Analyst Certification in 1978. His is a member of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst and the Investment Counsel Association.

Ed has served on the University Of Virginia Alumni Association Board Of Managers and the Jefferson Scholars Foundation. He is a former member and past President of the University of Virginia Arts & Sciences Alumni Counsel and past Co-Chairman of the University of Virginia Capital Campaign. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for St Joseph Mercy Foundation of Atlanta, Gordon College Foundation and the University of
Virginia Alumni Board of Trustees Endowment.

Ed and his wife, Ginger (Sweet Briar College 63) live in Atlanta. They have three children and four grandchildren.
