William Hobson Spencer IVWilliam Hobson Spencer IV is a consultant for sales teams of financial service companies. His career in the brokerage business, has lasted over 30 years. Past employment included The Pioneer Group, Wheat First Securities and Ferris, Baker, Watts, Inc. Bill is a graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences. While at the University, he was a member of IMP Society; TILKA Ribbon Society; Varsity Baseball (1st Team all A.C.C./Honorable mention All American; Team Captain). Mr. Spencer's civic activities include service as President of the Maryland Chapter of the Alumni Association; Jefferson Scholarship National Selection Board; Virginia Student and Foundation Board of Trustees; McIntire School of Commerce "Lecturer in Commerce" part time for 8 years. Mr. Spencer served in the U.S. Army as Field Artillery Officer. He was president – Bond Club of Baltimore; President of Virginians of MD; Commissioner of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League; 20 years as a Collegiate Football Official (Southern Conference); Chairman of Thomas Jefferson Area United Way Campaign; President of the Thomas Jefferson Area United Way Campaign; Baltimore Boys of Summer Hall of Fame (Baseball); Babe Ruth Museum and Birthplace; Board of Directors. Bill and his wife, the former Betsy (Elizabeth) Flander reside in Maryland and have two children and four grandchildren. |
