Anson H. Beard

Anson is the President of Vollero Beach Capital Partners, an asset management firm based in New York. Previously, he worked at Duff Capital Advisors as a managing director and head of investment manager sourcing. He was previously employed by BlackRock in New York, where he was a managing director and portfolio manager in the alternatives division. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2004, Anson was the founder, managing partner, and portfolio manager of Archimedes Capital Partners, LLC, a long/short equity hedge fund. From 1996-2000, he was an associate at Tiger Management LLC, focusing on basic industrial equities and commodities. During business school, Anson consulted and worked part time for Tiger Management LLC. He was an associate equity analyst specializing in machinery, metals, and mining at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1994 to 1996.

Anson currently serves as a Trustee of Prep for Prep in New York and is a Trustee of Middlesex School in Concord, MA. He earned a B.A. in history from the University of Virginia in 1993 and an M.B.A. in finance from Columbia University in 2000. He lives in New York City with his wife Veronica and their five children.
