U.Va. Campaign Volunteer Leadership Team

The Campaign Executive Committee is an all-volunteer group comprised of alumni and friends of the university spanning the entire globe. They work tirelessly to ensure a future of excellence at our institution and a continuation of Jefferson’s vision into the 21st century.

Gordon F. Rainey, Jr. (College ’62, Law ’67)

Richmond, Va.

Campaign Chair and Chair of the Campaign Executive Committee

Chairman emeritus of Hunton & Williams, one of the nation’s largest law firms, Gordon Rainey is a past president of the Alumni Association’s Board of Managers. He was appointed to the Board of Visitors in 2000 and served as rector of the University from 2003 to 2005.

Everette L. Doffermyre, Jr. (College ’70, Law ’73)

Atlanta, Ga.

Campaign Vice Chair and Chair of the National Committee on University Resources (NCOUR)

Everette Doffermyre is managing partner of the law firm of Doffermyre, Shields, Canfield, Knowles & Devine. In addition to serving as vice chair of the Campaign Executive Committee, he heads the National Committee on University Resources, or NCOUR, a network of volunteer leaders in key regions around the country. Like Mr. Rainey, he is a past president of the Alumni Association’s Board of Managers.

John L. Nau III (College ’68)

Houston, Texas

Campaign Vice Chair and Chair of the Council of Foundations, which comprises representatives from all schools and programs and their related foundations

John Nau is past-president of the College Foundation and leads the Council of Foundations, a panel comprising representatives from the boards of the University’s schools and programs and their related foundations. In the University’s last campaign, he was chairman of the Campaign for Arts & Sciences and a member of the Campaign Executive Committee. A former member of the Alumni Association’s Board of Managers, he is chairman, president and CEO of Silver Eagle Distributors, the nation’s largest distributor of Anheuser Busch products.
