For Dessert, That Is…
Initiatives spearheaded by students, alumni, and community members continue to raise awareness and support for projects on the Grounds. Since this summer, the Boar’s Head has been donating a portion of the proceeds from a special dessert toward the ongoing Rotunda renovations.
Courtney Roane, director of food and beverage at the Boar’s Head, says that the Local Pear and Walnut Crisp with Goat Cheese Ice Cream is “our small way of paying forward to the future, and honoring the significance of the Jeffersonian architecture.”
Sounds like the perfect way to end a great meal. “Our chefs use the finest ingredients to represent what Jefferson himself might have enjoyed for dessert on a crisp, fall evening in Virginia,” Roane adds.” And it pairs well with the Optima 10, a tawny port. We invite everyone to come to try the dessert and give back to the Rotunda renovation with every bite!”
