2012 Regular Session

The 2012 Regular Session of the General Assembly convened on Wednesday, January 11 and approved the 2012 Session calendar. The Session is scheduled to adjourn sine die on Saturday, March 10, and reconvene on Wednesday, April 18 to consider the Governor's vetoes and recommendations to bills passed during the Regular Session. State Budget (Budget Process Map)

The biennial budget is passed in even-numbered years to appropriate projected revenues for the next two fiscal years. In odd-numbered years, the budget must be amended to ensure that the budget remains balanced based on actual and updated revenue projections.
