CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – July 28, 2009 – Heritage Theatre Festival has announced that its August 6th performance of On Golden Pond will feature sign language interpretation for their Deaf and Hard of Hearing patrons.

The performance, which came about from a request by a Deaf professor at the University of Virginia, begins at 7:30PM at Culbreth Theatre.  Laurie Shaffer, the university’s American Sign Language/spoken English interpreter, will be joined by Kate O’Varanese, fellow interpreter and the coordinator of services for the deaf and hard of hearing for the performance.  The pair will be positioned at stage right and a special block of tickets is being reserved in the section directly facing them for deaf and hard of hearing audience members.

To purchase tickets in the reserved block of seats in front of the interpreters, call the box office at 434-924-3376 or visit the Heritage Box Office in person at 109 Culbreth Road.  For more information on On Golden Pond and the Heritage Theatre Festival, visit www.uvahtf.org
