HERITAGE TO PRESENT SPECIAL
SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION FOR AUGUST 6
PERFORMANCE OF ON GOLDEN POND
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – July 28, 2009 – Heritage Theatre Festival has announced that its August 6th performance of On Golden Pond will feature sign language interpretation for their Deaf and Hard of Hearing patrons.
The performance, which came about from a request by a Deaf professor at the University of Virginia, begins at 7:30PM at Culbreth Theatre. Laurie Shaffer, the university’s American Sign Language/spoken English interpreter, will be joined by Kate O’Varanese, fellow interpreter and the coordinator of services for the deaf and hard of hearing for the performance. The pair will be positioned at stage right and a special block of tickets is being reserved in the section directly facing them for deaf and hard of hearing audience members.
