CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – May 20, 2010 – In a sure sign that summer is right around the corner, Heritage Theatre Festival will launch online sales on Monday, May 24 for its 2010 season ticket sales and its season kick-off party. Tickets will go on sale that morning at 10AM at www.uvahtf.org.
The 2010 Heritage Theatre Festival season, running from July 1-August 7, begins with the ultimate family musical - Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music. It will be followed by a dose of “Christmas in July” when A Tuna Christmas shows what happens when you combine two talented actors, more than 20 wacky denizens of Tuna, Texas and a set of circumstances bound to make anyone’s holidays seem entirely forgettable in comparison. Next up will be an early glimpse into the comedic mind of a true American master with Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park. And wrapping up a summer of fun will be the side-splitting musical mayhem brought to courtesy of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
Those looking for a sneak preview of the fun to come at Heritage this summer can get it at the special Season Kick-Off party at the Helms Theatre on Saturday, June 12 at 7:30PM. The event will feature members of the 2010 Heritage Company in a concert featuring some highlights from the upcoming season as well as audience favorites from Heritage seasons past. The evening will surely end on a sweet note thanks to delicious desserts from Clifton Inn.
Tickets for the Season Kick-Off Party are $30, and will be available, along with season subscriptions, beginning Monday, May 24 at www.uvahtf.org.
Single tickets for all 2010 Heritage Theatre Festival productions will go on sale on Friday, June 11. They will be available online, in-person at the U.Va. Arts Box Office (in the lobby of the Culbreth Theatre building) and by phone by calling 434-924-3376.
