Survey Data 2000

The study population for this survey was all students at the University of Virginia in the academic year 2000-2001. A random sample of 2,205 students were surveyed. The survey was conducted entirely over the web. When the field period ended on January 20, 2001, 1,640 responses had been received, for a response rate of 74%. At a 95% confidence level, the overall sampling error for the survey was ±1.2%.

Survey Data 2003

The study population for this survey was all undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Virginia in academic year 2002-03. A random sample of 1,123 students were surveyed. The survey was conducted entirely over the web. When the field period ended in March 31, 2003, 778 responses had been received, for a response rate of 69%. At a 95% confidence level, the overall sampling error for the survey was ±3.4%.

Survey Data 2008

The study population for this survey was all undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Virginia in academic year 2007-08. A random sample of 2,000 students was surveyed. The survey was conducted entirely over the web. When the field period ended on February 28th, 2008, 915 responses had been received, for a response rate of 46%. At a 95% confidence level, the overall sampling error for the survey was ±2.4%.
