Summer Session 2009 Housing was available from May 10, 2009 through August 7, 2009. There is a three-week (21 days) minimum stay required for all reservations, and you must show proof of academic pursuits for the
duration of your stay.
Please note that you must be 18 years of age to live on Grounds during Summer Session.
The deadline for housing reservations for Session I is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009. The housing reservation deadline for all other sessions is 5:00 p.m., 30 days before the date of arrival. Space in on-Grounds housing
is extremely limited, so please make your reservations early. Conference Services will not be able to accommodate housing requests
made after the reservation deadline.

Summer Language Institute participants should make reservations as Summer Session students.

Reservation forms are currently not available for Summer Session 2009.

In the event that you find it necessary to change or cancel your reservation, Conference Services requires written notice of the
change. The Change Form or Cancellation of Housing Form must be submitted in order for your request to
be considered. Cancellation fees will be applicable for all cancellations. There will be a change of reservation fee of $20.00 if you would like to change the dates of your original reservation. If you have any questions about the forms, please contact our

Refunds for payments originally made by credit card will be posted within one business week. Refunds for checks and money orders
will take between 6 and 8 weeks to process.

Keys may be picked up between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. for Session I, or between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on all other scheduled arrival dates, at the Conference Services office.
The office is located in Kent House on Bonnycastle Drive.
Please be prepared to leave a valid Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card number at check-in. This number will serve as your key deposit in the
event that you lose or fail to return your keys at check-out. This credit card will not be charged unless you fail to return your keys
by your scheduled check-out time.

Housekeeping will visit the residence halls Monday through Friday to remove common area trash, as well as to sanitize the common
areas and bathrooms. It is the responsibility of residents to remove their own trash from their room and place it in the proper receptacles
outside of the residence area. All residents are responsible for cleaning their rooms upon departure. A $50.00 per hour fee, with a two-hour minimum, will be assessed
after check-out if you fail to clean your room or remove trash properly.

If you are locked out of your room, please call our office at (434) 924-4479. We will dispatch a staff member to assist you.
For security purposes, be prepared to show photo ID to verify that you are the resident of the room in question. Please be aware that a
$50.00 charge will be added to your bill each time that you utilize this service. We recommend that you try
contacting your roommate or RA before calling Conference Services.

If you lose your key and/or access card, please contact the Conference Services office immediately so that we may change the
locks and maintain a high level of security in the residence area. Please note that you will be charged for the cost of replacing the lock,
key, and access card. There will be a fee to replace a lost key or access card. This charge must be paid at the time of the lock change.
Please follow the same procedures if you break or bend your key. For a small fee, Conference Services will provide a
new key, provided that both pieces of the key are returned to our office.

Conference Services does not arrange parking for Summer Session residents. All residents in need of a parking permit should
report to Parking & Transportation, located behind the Barracks Road Shopping Center on Millmont Street. Parking & Transportation is
open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. For more information on parking, please visit the Parking and Transportation Website.

The University Transit Service remains in operation in the summer, providing free transportation for University students and
guests to various locations on Grounds. Although the University Transit Service is still in operation, the bus schedule is severely reduced
in the summer. For more information, see the University's Bus Schedule.

Conference Services does NOT arrange dining and meal plans for Summer Session residents. However, meal plans are
available for Summer Session students. To sign up for a meal plan, you'll need to visit the Dining Services office, call (434)
982-5110, or email dining@virginia.edu. The Dining Services office is
located in the basement of Observatory Hill Dining Hall on Alderman Road. There is no meal plan available for Session I students; if
you are a Session I student, you will need to make your own dining arrangements. For more information on meal plans, please visit the

Summer Session residents will receive their mail through the University of Virginia Mail Service. All mail will go directly
to the mailroom located on the first floor of Tuttle House. The mailroom is open Monday through Friday; from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Conference Services does NOT handle Summer Session mail and cannot accept packages for students enrolled in Summer Session. If
you would like to receive mail while enrolled in Summer Session, please visit the Tuttle mailroom and complete the proper paperwork. Be

If you have questions or problems that need to be reported to Conference Services please call us at (434) 924-4479. During the
summer, our business hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days a week. After hours please call
for emergencies only, i.e. water overflows, electrical wiring sparks, lock-outs, etc. During the academic year, our business hours are from 8:00 a.m.
until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Grounds.

If there is a medical emergency, fire or if you believe there is a need to call the police during your stay at the University
please call 911 before you contact our office. (From on-Grounds phones, you still only need to dial 911).
